  • Honey
  • Hot Sauce
  • Smoked Paprika
  • Melted butter
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt & Pepper

Honey Hot Sauce for Wings

Honey hot sauce goes particularly well with chicken wings because chicken takes on flavour so well. Serve them as an appetizer or as a knockout side dish.

Honey Hot Sauce Recipe

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce/Tabasco Sauce (or try our fermented hot sauce recipe)
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of coarse salt
  • 1 teaspoon of freshly cracked black pepper

Place all of the ingredients in a medium hot pan and heat until the honey and spices dissolve – this should take 5-10 minutes.

Honey hot sauce goes exceptionally well with fried chicken – the spicy sweetness perfectly sets off the crispy texture of fried chicken.

Is Honey Hot Sauce Spicy?

Honey hot sauce can be customised to your heat tolerance. If you like your sauce to be hot add a little more cayenne pepper, chilli powder or hot sauce. If you want your honey hot sauce to be milder dial back on these ingredients.

Nashville Hot Honey Sauce

  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 3 tablespoons of cayenne pepper more or less depending on heat preference
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of coarse salt
  • 2 teaspoons of freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of sweet smoked paprika                                          
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
